Breath of the Dragon

The above images are the selection of impressions which were done concurrently with the Come and See paintings. These are monoprints and transient in there creation process, several are related feeding one into another.

They reflect the transient nature of the living moment, the forces that ebb and flow in the eternal now. One of my tutors tried to say I should have more of a plan when making these images, I tried but could not come up with a formula for capturing these images, as has been said no plan survives first contact.

Printmaking is something I return to from time to time and over the years built up a wide range of skills and experience. Which relate to my other practices, the above mono prints relate to my approach to painting, while I have also used various forms of lithography as well as screen printing. Indeed I even worked for a commercial screen printer for many years separating artwork. In conjunction to my woodcarving I also work with wood block printing.
