Exploration in Casting
After doing plenty of resin and plaster casting I have explored casting in metals, including lead, bronze and iron. The latter were done at the old ESW, Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop.
The bronze Celtic Cross is perhaps the most traditional of techniques deployed here utilising lost wax casting. After attempting more formal appoaches to green sand and resin sand casting I found direct approaches more interesting. The lead casting were done in my own workshop and look to transform lead while moulds retain the scars from the casting process.
